Panchagavya is a mixture of the milk, curd, ghee, urine, and dung in certain specific proportion and it plays an important role in Ayurveda system of medicine and is mentioned in ancient Indian literature that it enhances the body resistance to infections.
There are numerous products and by-products derived from panchagavyas. Many daily use consumer products such as soaps, toothpaste, toothpowders (red dant manjan and black dant manjan have anti-biotic and anti-septic properties of cow dung), shampoo, detergent soaps, dishwash soaps (utensil cleaner), incense sticks, beauty products, floor-cleaning phenyl, hair oil, face-pack, mosquito repellent coils & dhoopbatti, after-shave, etc are being manufactured from panchagavyas and these products are eco-friendly, chemical free, and are of better quality available at low cost. Today there are organizations researching on the usage of panchagavyas in neutraceuticals such as health-drinks, health powders, and chocolates.
