Go:puja means worship of a cow (Go:ma:tha) along with her calf. Go:puja removes hardships of the people and blesses them with peace and happiness. It also enables a person to achieve control over his senses. Go:puja is equivalent to apradakshinam around the earth, recitation of Vedas and worship of Lord Vishnu.

Go:da:nam means donating a cow (Go:ma:tha) along with her calf. Go:da:nam liberates the donor and his forefathers from the sins committed knowingly or unknowingly in their lives. Go:da:nam is performed when a child is born in the family, during marriage, when a person passes away or in any other auspicious occasion. It bestows heavenly comforts on the donor. Departed souls will be relieved from the hells and from a treacherous river “Vaitharini” by doing Go:da:nam. The devathas in the cow will take care of the soul. It is equal to the benefits obtained by performing Ra:jasu:ya Ya:ga and donating unlimited amount of gold.

JIVA Aayu Products (Cow-Based Medicines)

We started manufacturing A:yurvedic products from cow dung and cow urine mixed with some other Ayurvedic herbs in our go:sa:la in 2012 after receiving training at Go: Vigyan Anusandhan Kendra at Nagpur, Maharashtra. Aayu is the brand name of our cow-based A:yurvedic products.

The Atharva Veda used the word “Aayu paya” for cow-based products as these products increase life span and promote good health.
Aayu means life or life-span.Hence we named the products ‘Aayu’.

1. When can the go danam be performed and what is its significance?

Departed souls will be relieved from the hells and from a treacherous river “Vaitharini” by doing Go danam. The devathas in the cow will take care of the soul.

2. When can one do go puja or go daanam?

Any time. Can be done on special occasions sanctifying the events like marriage, birth, festivals such as Krishna:shtami/Janma:shtami and special personal/family occasions like birthdays, marriage days, etc. Devotees are advised to give us prior notice about go puja or go daanam they wish to perform so that we can make arrangements for the same. 3. Can I register for the puja online?

Sure. You can. The form is on online. If you want prasadam (include name, address, cost of postage)

4. I am far away. Can I still get the puja done?

Of course you can. Send your details in full or on whose name you want the puja to be performed. Please fill in the online form with details. We do it on your behalf and send your prasadam.

5. What items should I bring for puja or go daanam?

Common puja material like turmeric powder, kumkum, beatle, incense sticks, camphors, couple of normal garlands without any plastic material in it, sandal paste, bananas, jaggery, 1 kg rice, 4 hooves and 2 horns made of silver or gold in the possible size to decorate the cow, a couple of dhoti’s. These are available here also. If you are not able to procure them, few things will be given by temple here on request.

6. How much should I contribute to do go puja?

Rs.1116 (Rs.516/- for Puja and Rs.600 for material cost approx)

7. Is there any dress code for go puja or go daanam?

Yes. You need to attend the puja with traditional dress i.e ladies with sarees or shalwar kameez, gents with dhothi and upper cloth.

8. I would like to adopt a cow and donate for its grass for one month. How much should I contribute?

Donation for Go:samrakshana:

Daily: Rs.151/-

Monthly: Rs.3500/-
