About Our Go:sa:la

Welcome to our Gosala, a sanctuary dedicated to the preservation and reverence of indigenous Indian cows. Our mission is to protect these sacred beings, promote sustainable livelihoods, and educate the community about the invaluable benefits of desi cows. Through traditional practices and collective efforts, we strive to uphold the sanctity and purity of Gau Seva.

In 1984, HH Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji established JEEYAR EDUCATIONAL TRUST VEDIC UNIVERSITY in a serene environment on the Southern banks of sacred river Krishna in Sitanagaram, Guntur district to retain and propagate the Vedic knowledge. Go:sa:la was established during that year to meet the needs of the asramam.

Suvratha Aasramam is home to 44 cows, where they are nurtured with devotion and care. At Sitanagaram, 30 cows and Varija, 36 cows are lovingly sheltered, reflecting the ashram’s commitment to traditional cow protection.

Bharath was once home to 72 indigenous cow species, but after independence, we lost over 65% of them. Today, only 26 species remain, while the rest are hybrids or crossbreeds. Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji is dedicated to preserving these native breeds and protecting them from extinction.

Protecting Indigenous Indian Cows

At the heart of our Gosala is the commitment to safeguard native Indian cow breeds, such as Gir and Rathi, known for their resilience and the production of nutrient-rich A2 milkThese cows are integral to sustainable agriculture, providing natural fertilizers that enhance soil fertility and promote eco-friendly farming practices Their preservation is crucial for maintaining biodiversity and supporting traditional farming communities

A team of veterinary doctors, some volunteers and some paid, attend the cows on a regular basis. We take their suggestions and services whenever needed.

We are using both Allopathy and Ayurveda to treat the cows depending on the nature of the problem. We prune the horns of only those cows that are aggressive and may cause injuries to other cows.

Producing Pure Bilona Ghee
A top-view of natural ingredients including honey, herbs, and leaves, perfect for healthy lifestyle themes.

Our Gosala takes pride in producing authentic Bilona Ghee using traditional methods. The process begins with boiling A2 milk from our desi cows, which is then cooled and cultured into curd. This curd is hand-churned using a wooden bilona to extract butter, which is subsequently heated over a low flame to produce golden, aromatic Ghee. This meticulous method preserves the nutritional integrity of the ghee, making it rich in antioxidants and beneficial fatty acids.

Through these endeavors, our Gosala remains steadfast in its dedication to cow protection, community empowerment, and the promotion of holistic well-eng. We invite you to join us in this sacred journey of preserving and honoring the invaluable legacy of desi cows.
